With Two Victories in 6 Matches, Liverpool Haven’t Been Consistent This Season

The Reds dropped points against Everton on Saturday, and with only two wins from 6 matches, Liverpool look a shadow of themselves. Jurgen Klopp has had to combat some issues since the beginning of the season last month, mainly injuries to important members of the squad, but even at that, Liverpool have been underwhelming so far this campaign. Their 9-0 demolition of Bournemouth looks even more fluky following their labored victory over Newcastle, and now their draw at the Goodison park on Saturday.

It is not so much about how Liverpool play, they just haven’t had the same efficiency and creativity in midfield that will always feed and aid the attack. This can be attributed to the loss of key stars like Thiago and Diogo Jota. Harvey Elliot has stepped up so far this campaign, his sharpness against Newcastle was a key factor that led to Liverpool’s late victory over the Magpies, but as he was not at his sparkling best against Everton, The Reds struggled to initiate quality attacking plays at times. Although Jordan Pickford‘s display on the day was phenomenal, Jurgen Klopp’s team that we’ve come to know, did not push harder.

With the addition of Arthur, with Diogo Jota back for the Reds, their fortune could improve, but it will have to go back to the consistency of last season’s title charge if they are to salvage anything in the League season this year.
