Liverpool host PSG tonight in the second leg of their quarter-final tie. The Reds are two goals down against the reigning European champions, and Arne Slot has encouraged Liverpool fans to be even more vocal as they look to take advantage of Anfield’s magical atmosphere to defeat the same side that knocked them out of the UCL last season.

Anfield has one of the most iconic atmospheres in world football, but that alone will not be enough to edge a stubborn Paris Saint-Germain side on Tuesday night.
Liverpool need to beat PSG by at least two goals in regular 90 minutes to stand any chance of progressing into the Champions League semi-finals.

Anfield’s atmosphere can set the tone, but Arne Slot’s side need to fix their weaknesses, at least for this game, to beat a side like PSG. Many teams have exposed Liverpool’s defensive issues throughout this campaign, along with their unbalanced midfield and concentration issues on the pitch.
PSG took full advantage last week in Paris, as they outplayed, overran, and outscored Arne Slot’s side. Liverpool will need to reach their best levels from last season in one night—levels that enabled them to go head-to-head against the Parisians—and that might be too much to ask, given their inconsistencies this season.

Liverpool have done it before. Anfield played a brilliant role as the Reds overturned a 3–0 deficit against FC Barcelona to go through, but that was a different Liverpool side under a different manager. That Liverpool side was arguably their best team in the last three decades.
Tonight, Anfield will set the tone like it always does, and the fans will believe. However, the right tactics, commitment, grit, and effort from the players will keep the atmosphere hot and intense throughout the game. For Liverpool, that has been missing for much of this season—hopefully, they find it tonight.
