Atletico Catch Barcelona Out Again As Hansi Flick Men Exit The UCL In Dramatic Fashion

Barcelona are out of the Champions League this season once again after Atletico Madrid defeated the Spanish champions 3–2 on aggregate despite losing 2–1 on the night. Barcelona thought they had equalized on aggregate again after Ferran Torres scored in the second half, but the referee ruled the goal offside.

With 16 minutes left to play, Barcelona repeated the mistake they made in the first leg. Eric Garcia pulled on Alexander Sorloth when the Norwegian was through on goal, and the referee sent him off.

From then on, Hansi Flick’s men could only fashion half chances, as they suffered another elimination caused mainly by defensive errors, just like last season.
