Chelsea 2-2 Spurs

Chelsea were back to their best against Spurs after a low key performance against Everton on the opening weekend. Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly combined for the first goal after 19 minutes of dominance from The Blues.

Chelsea had chances to get more goals, but missed good chances in the first half. Sterling missed a very clear chance for Chelsea before Tottenham equalized through Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. There was a lot of controversy about Spurs equalizer which led to the first clash between Tuchel and Conte.

Raheem Sterling put Reece James through, before the English defender scored his 6th league goal since the beginning of last season, to restore Chelsea’s lead.

Harry Kane’s header late on in the game robbed Chelsea of their first home win of the Campaign. Although just before Tottenham’s goal, Antony Taylor overlooked Romero foul even after VAR reviewed it. The Argentine pulled Marc Cucurella’s hair, during a corner kick and he was not penalized.

Chelsea and Tottenham come away with a point, but it looks like Conte and Tuchel are the newest touch line rivals in London.
