Viktor Gyokeres has spoken about the pain and determination in the Arsenal locker room following Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. He vowed to use the disappointment as motivation for the team’s remaining trophy hunts.

Arsenal played poorly at the worst possible time. Almost every starter struggled, except perhaps for William Saliba. The team was especially weak at the start of the second half; they were trapped in their own end until Nico O’Reilly scored his second goal in the 64th minute to seal the win for City.
Despite the loss, Arsenal’s season remains strong. This was only their fourth defeat in 50 matches. They are currently nine points ahead of City in the Premier League (though they have played one extra game) and are in the Champions League quarter-finals against Sporting. Their next match is an FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton.
Viktor Gyokeres on the Loss:
“Of course, we don’t feel great right now but it’s not like we have a game in three days. For sure, we will go again and be even more motivated for those games. This will help us be more focused to win everything.”
“We created some chances at the beginning of the game and then I think it was maybe 10 minutes from the break where they got the momentum.”
