- The former Manchester City defender Joins Lorient on a 2-year deal
Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has found a new home in Lorient. The former Monaco man has signed a 2-year deal with Lorient as he looks to restart his career.
Mendy was found not guilt of rape, and sexual assault charges by Chester Crown court last week, and he has since moved swiftly to restart his career.
Benjamin Mendy last played for Manchester City on the 15th of August 2021 against Tottenham Hotspur. Lorient have taken a chance on the World Cup winner, who has not played professionally in almost 2 years.
Mendy excelled as an exciting left back who enjoyed bumping up and down the pitch for Manchester City. He was known for his contribution to attack and his excellent technique in delivering crosses into the box.
Mendy made a total of 75 appearances for Manchester City, scoring twice and registering 14 assists. He will no doubt help bolster the French side’s defensive options as they look to improve on last season’s 10th place finish.
