Chelsea have started talks with Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade. The Blues are assessing other options after a deal for Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitiké stalled.
Nick Woltemade is a 21-year-old German striker who also feels comfortable playing as a number 10 or with a partner up front. Woltemade is a 6ft6 lanky striker with strong technical fundamentals and impressive footwork in his game already and also possess the ability to link up with other players in tight spaces inside the box.

Chelsea see Nick Woltemade as an alternative to Hugo Ekitiké, who has been their main target so far this summer. Since Frankfurt insists on selling Ekitike for £100 million, Chelsea have stopped negotiations with the German club. They plan to focus on the FIFA Club World Cup first and then assess their squad after the tournament before making more signings to improve their squad.
Woltemade could cost Chelsea upwards of £30 million if the Blues decide to sign him this summer. Atlético Madrid also want to sign the exciting German talent.

Woltemade directly contributed to 20 goals in all competitions for Stuttgart last season, and although he might not be the finished article yet, teams around Europe have started to see his potential, and Chelsea could face fierce competition for his signature soon.
The Blues have already signed Liam Delap and remain linked to stars like Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres as they look to upgrade their squad after returning to the Champions League.
