Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Spence from Middlesbrough for a fee in the region of €20M. Spurs have been monitoring Djed Spence for a while. The club followed his progress last season at Nottingham Forest. Spence helped Forest gain promotion to the Premier League, and Tottenham have made a move to bring the right-back to the Premier League.
Spence has played over 100 Championship matches despite being just 21. Coaches have tipped the former Fulham academy star to become one best in the country in a competitive position.
Antonio Conte will make Djed Spence his 6th summer signing after bringing in Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Richarlison, and Yves Bissouma.
A deal for Spence could put former Betis defender Emerson Royal back on the market this summer. With Spence, Spurs will have three senior right-backs, including Matt Doherty and Royal. Also, after spending so much, the club will like to Balance the books by letting few players leave. Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilón have both been linked with moving to Spanish clubs this summer.
