United striker Mason Greenwood is set to become a father

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is set to welcome his first child a couple of months from now. This happens after having sexual assault and attempted rape charges dropped against him just weeks ago.

The English forward has been suspended by Manchester United since the beginning of 2022. Greenwood was arrested in January 2022, and although he hasn’t featured for Manchester United since then, the club continues to pay his £75,000 per week wage. That would be one of the concerns as the club makes a decision on his future.

Greenwood has scored 35 goals and assists 12 in his 129 senior appearances for Manchester United.

Greenwood released a statement after authorities announced their decision to drop the case. He wrote: I am relieved that this matter is now over, and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. There will be no further comments at this time.

United also responded to the news, claiming they will have their own investigation into the matter before determining next steps.

Will United Bring Mason Greenwood Back?

Some staffs at the club believe that the 21-year-old will not wear the Manchester United jersey again. Manchester United women’s team are also against Mason Greenwood coming back into the club. Although United boss Erik ten Hag has declined to comment further on Greenwood’s situation, Founder of United women’s supporters’ club remarked that Manchester United need to make a statement and letting Greenwood back would be the worst thing they could do.

Burrell remarked:

“ I don’t want to see him training, in a kit, or coming out at Old Trafford again, and I’m confident they won’t let him”
