Late Carvalho Goal Hands Liverpool Victory Over Newcastle

Liverpool win back-to-back games in the Premier League for the first time this season with what was virtually the last kick of the game. Carvalho was the scorer, crashing the ball in to send Anfield into raptures after the hosts had been left frustrated by the visitors’ time-wasting tactics for most of the second half. Firmino equalled the scoring after putting away a pass from Salah earlier on, cancelling out Isak’s first half opener that gave Newcastle the lead at the break.

Late Show Liverpool at Anfield

A resurgent performance by Liverpool in the second half saw them claim their second home win of the season in stunning fashion. Liverpool have had their troubles this season, and after that 9-0 drubbing of Bournemouth, a 1-1 draw against Newcastle would have been anticlimactic. Liverpool kept knocking, and deservedly got the winner. A much needed win for the Merseyside club, who would have fallen 7 points behind City if not for Fabio Carvalho’s late strike.

Alexander Isak’s goal

The Reds conceded first again last night against Newcastle. Although it was a clean and sumptuous finish from Magpies new boy Isak, Jurgen Klopp needs to find a way to stop the worrying trend of conceding first.
