- Mason Mount Will have Medicals at Carrington Next Week.
Mason Mount Will Join Manchester United This Summer
Chelsea and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of English midfielder Mason Mount. Manchester United have been in contact with Chelsea, trying to sign Mount for the whole of June.
The Blues rejected two approaches from Manchester United, but were able to strike an agreement after meeting with club officials.
Mason Mount will have his medicals next week ahead of a move to Manchester. The Chelsea academy graduate made it clear that he wanted to leave the club this summer, despite having one year left on his contract.
Fans criticized Mason Mount for his performances last season. The English midfielder and most Chelsea stars were a “no-show” in a campaign that saw the two-time UCL winners finish outside the top 10 in the Premier League.
He leaves Chelsea after four successful seasons with the Club’s first team. Mount has been with the Blues since 2005, progressing through the ranks and going out on loans, before cementing his place as a first team player back in 2019 under Frank Lampard.
Mason Mount famously provided the assist for the Champions League final winning goal by Kai Havertz back in 2021.
He won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and also appeared in 3 FA Cup finals for Chelsea. He made a total of 195 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 33 times and assisting 37 times.
