Manchester United are increasingly confident of snapping up Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona. Erik Ten Hag has been pushing to sign the Barcelona midfielder since Manchester United appointed him as the new coach. The Red Devils are confident that they will agree a fee with Barcelona soon. Although there have been reports of a €70M bid rejected by Barcelona. Manchester United reportedly guaranteed a €60M payment plus add-ons. Barça rejected because their valuation of Frenkie de Jong is closer to €100M.

Manchester United will hope to play on Barcelona’s financial troubles to land the Dutch international. 

Frenkie de Jong has also reiterated that he wants to stay at Barcelona. The midfielder has reiterated that he is happy in Spain, but that hasn’t stopped Manchester United from making a move. 

There are also new reports of Ten Hag calling up the midfielder himself to persuade him to join his project at Manchester United. Manchester United will prepare another bid soon for de Jong as they hope to wrap up the move before the end of June.

Manchester United are also looking at the possibility of bringing in a new striker this month. Signing Darwin Nunez might no longer be possible, but Ten Hag hopes to get in another attacker before the end of this month.
