The NFL MVP race is starting to heat up quite nicely as the contenders are being separated from the pretenders. Some have jumped in front of others but things can still change with 10 weeks remaining. We take a look at the 5 best players with a strong case for MVP at this stage of the season.

#5 – Tom Brady (QB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady is still going strong. He leads the entire league with 2650 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns. While he was unable to deliver the win over the weekend against the Saints, he has still had a great season up till now.

#4 – Dak Prescott (QB) Dallas Cowboys

Dak was injured and unavailable last weekend. His team managed to defeat the Vikings without him but he was still missed. The offense suffered in his absence. He is by far the Cowboys most valuable player and they have a chance to be the top seed in the NFC playoffs this year. That would greatly improve his chances of winning NFL MVP.

#3 – Matthew Stafford (QB) Los Angeles Rams

Stafford is having a dominant season. Surging up the rankings quickly and causing everyone to take notice. He currently leads the NFL in QBR and is only second in Passer rating. He currently ranks among the league leaders in all relevant passing categories. A veteran quarterback whose influence on this Rams team can not be overstated.

#2 – Josh Allen (QB) Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen is many people’s pick to win the award. He ranks 11th in passing yards, fifth in passing touchdowns and ninth in efficiency rating. Those are not great statistics but his real value can’t be measured in numbers. The Bills have been the best team in the AFC this season. He has been an exceptional part of their consistency.

#1 – Kyler Murray (QB) Arizona Cardinals

Despite Thursday night’s loss to the Packers, Murray sits at #1. Before that loss to the packers, Murray had led his team to a 7-game winning run. The week before, he performed brilliantly against the Houston Texans completing 20 of 28 passing for 261 yards and threw three touchdowns. He finished with a rating of 121.3. The injury might be a concern for some but at the moment he remains at the top spot.
