Scratch Cristiano Ronaldo v Messi, it’s now Karim Benzema Robert vs Lewandowski in La Liga. The 34-year olds are the latest rivals of The Spanish top flight division, and the race is on already. Robert Lewandowski has settled in perfectly well with his Barça teammates, scoring a brace in two consecutive La Liga matches; he has started well. The Polish striker leads the League in terms of goals scored and Karim Benzema isn’t far behind.
Benzema and Lewandowski will be key to the successes of their respective clubs in the La Liga and in Europe this term, and it will be exciting to watch. Consistency, injury and many other factors will determine the striker or team that comes out on top, but it will also boil down to “sidekicks”.
Lewandowski has Raphinha, Dembele and Ansu Fati at Barcelona, while Benzema has Vinicius and Rodrygo at his disposal.
Benzema and Vinicius were immaculate for Real Last season, as they scooped the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy, but it will be even harder to replicate such feat this term, especially with the new firepower at Barcelona.
Lewandowski is shoe in to outscore Benzema but on the collective side Real Madrid will probably still edge Barcelona to the La Liga Title..
