It has been a great weekend for Arsenal fans in the Premier League. The Gunners got a 3-2 away win at Vicarage Road to go ahead of Manchester United. Also, The Red Devils lost at The Etihad, to further aid the goal of Arsenal this season.
Arsenal are now one point above Manchester United despite playing 3 matches fewer than the Mancunians. The North Londoners are fourth on the table and that is a position Mikel Arteta’s men will want to hold unto for the rest of this current campaign.
Arsenal haven’t played in the UEFA Champions League since the 2016/17 season. Mikel Arteta has made it his mission to get the Gunners back where they belong – The best chance is now!
Looking at Arsenal’s fixtures from now till the end of the Campaign, The Gunners could return to Europe this year.
Arsenal will fully focus on the EPL as they have been knocked out of other competitions this season. With two postponed matches yet to be scheduled Arsenal still have 13 matches to play this season.
Arsenal will still face Chelsea, West Ham, Manchester United, Leicester, and Liverpool.
Arsenal can do it.
A fumbling Manchester United team coupled with inconsistencies from Tottenham presents the perfect opportunity for The Gunners to sneak back into the UCL. Leicester City and Everton are nowhere near the top, and West Ham’s Top 4 challenge has faded.
Mikel Arteta said at the beginning of the season that UCL qualification will be their goal, and despite losing Aubameyang, Arsenal haven’t lost focus. UCL qualification this season could prove to be key in the future of the London club. It will, among other things, attract top-quality talents to the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta can build his team from there. The Gunners currently have a great crop of young players that are ready to work with the Spanish coach. UCL qualification will only boost the confidence of the lads and expectations at the club.
Also, with the arrival of Newcastle as the richest club in the World, getting into Europe will only get tougher for teams in England.
Securing a place at the biggest club competition this season could provide The Gunners with the opportunity to build a squad that will be strong enough to consistently challenge for trophies and top positions among the big boys in England.
