Manchester United confirmed the signing of Christian Eriksen on a free transfer today. The former Ajax and Spurs star will play for Erik Ten Hag’s side this season after signing a 3-year contract. Manchester United had to convince the Danish star as Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford and other Premier League clubs were keen on a move for the midfielder.

Now that Eriksen has signed for Manchester United, what will he bring to a side undergoing a transition?

Christian Eriksen is a leader

Eriksen is a very calm figure who commands respect. With his experience from Ajax, Spurs to Inter, and also with the Danish national team, Christian Eriksen will be viewed as a leader in the Manchester United dressing room. A player like him is needed, especially after the team lost players like Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.

Christian Eriksen stats

Eriksen needs no introduction in the Premier League. His exploits for Spurs show his strengths. He is a specialist in creating chances and also taking them. His delivery from anywhere on the pitch is top-notch. The likes of Fred and Bruno Fernandes will benefit from having a player like Eriksen on the team.

Few players in the current Manchester United squad have played more PL games than Eriksen. Whether coming on from the bench or affecting the game early, Eriksen has done it all before and his experience will help the team.

After what happened last year at the Euros, Eriksen might not play every game for Manchester United, but having a top-notch midfielder like him on the bench bodes well for The Red Devils.
