- Juventus Midfielder Reportedly Fails Doping Test
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been suspended provisionally for failing a doping test. The former Manchester United midfielder took the test after Juventus’s victory against Udinese on the 20th of August.
Pogba’s test came back positive for unusually high levels of testosterone, which spikes athletes endurance levels.
The Frenchman has endured a torrid time back at the Old Lady since his move last summer. He has only made 8 league appearances due to recurring injuries and fitness problems.
Pogba risks a four-year ban for doping, and Juventus have already released a statement addressing the situation:
Juventus Football Club announces that today, September 11, 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023. The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps.
