- United Focused On Signing Marc Cucurella As Soon As Possible.
The Red Devils are now in advanced talks to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. United are looking to get the Spanish left-back on loan, and the player has already agreed to join Manchester United.
United need a left-back after Luke Shaw sustained a serious injury, and will be out for months. Chelsea are willing to let the Spaniard go on loan or even permanently, but Manchester United want to make it a loan deal only. Reports suggest that Manchester United have offered Chelsea a £2m loan fee, but The Blues want more.
Chelsea signed Marc Cucurella last summer for €63m from Brighton, but the left-back has since seen chances limited at Stamford Bridge due to the team’s form last season and the form of Ben Chilwell.
Mauricio Pochettino has favoured the former Leicester star over Cucurella this season, and has also named Chilwell assistant captain. Ian Maatsen is also said to be above Marc Cucurella in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United will stop negotiations for any other left-back, as Erik ten Hag wants Marc Cucurella for his project and has picked him as Luke Shaw’s replacement.
